90-day pilot

Before you begin

Routine horse care, organized around your life.

HerdBound makes routine horse care easier to manage through thoughtful organization, useful insight, and personal coordination. Your horses, providers, schedules, costs, and hay information stay organized in one place, with personal support when something needs attention.

What you are signing up for

Coordination and visibility—not another job.

Your setup creates a practical operating picture of the horses you manage: where they are kept, who makes decisions, which providers you already use, what routine care repeats, what it costs, and whether you want hay inventory included.

The goal is not to collect every possible detail. It is to collect the information that makes routine coordination easier, then confirm anything uncertain during a short onboarding call.

Included in the current pilot

A focused service with useful boundaries.

The pilot starts with the areas that can create real convenience without turning your setup into another job.

Routine care schedules

The dates that matter, kept together.

We organize the last-completed date, next appointment, provider, and normal interval for the supported recurring services you choose.
  • Farrier visits
  • Routine veterinary and dental care
  • Selected preventive care

Provider coordination

Less back-and-forth to keep care moving.

Your regular providers are linked to the right horses and services. Known service rates, trip fees, hay prices, and delivery fees stay with the provider details you share.
  • Your existing providers
  • Known rates and fees
  • Personal coordination before paid services

Hay usage & inventory

A practical view of hay on hand.

If you opt in, we organize daily hay amounts, current bale counts, storage capacity, reserve preferences, and estimated reorder timing.
  • Hay only
  • Seasonal hay amounts
  • Inventory and reorder planning

Dashboard & reminders

A clear view before something is due.

Horse, location, provider, care, cost, and hay information is brought into one dashboard so upcoming needs are easier to see and act on.
  • Selected reminder timing
  • Upcoming and overdue items
  • One informed view

Convenience with insight

See what the work is costing—and what may need attention next.

Organized records make useful patterns easier to see. Individual owners gain a clearer picture of ongoing horse-care costs and upcoming needs. Boarding operations can compare costs across horses and locations, recognize when expenses and boarding rates are drifting apart, and make better-informed purchasing and pricing decisions.Insight supports your decisions. You remain in control of providers, care, spending, and pricing.

Cost per horse

Bring routine care and hay costs into a clearer per-horse view instead of reconstructing them later.

Cost by owner or location

Separate shared expenses more accurately so costs land with the horses, owners, and barns they support.

Hay runway & ordering

Estimate days on hand, reorder timing, purchase quantities, and expected cost before inventory becomes urgent.

Margin awareness

Help boarding operations recognize when hay and provider costs are changing faster than the rates they charge.

How onboarding works

A short setup, then a quick confirmation.

01

Complete the intake

Share what you already know. Unknown answers and optional blanks are completely fine.

02

We build your account

Your information is entered into the care dashboard and checked for obvious gaps or conflicts.

03

Confirm it together

A short onboarding call confirms questions, approval preferences, and the schedules that will be tracked.

04

Begin the pilot

The 90-day pilot starts after setup is confirmed, with room to adjust what is not working.

Who handles what

Support without taking control away from you.

What the service handles

  • Organizing the information you provide
  • Tracking selected routine dates and intervals
  • Displaying upcoming and overdue needs
  • Sending or preparing selected reminders
  • Coordinating with your providers after confirming with you
  • Organizing known provider rates and fees
  • Tracking hay usage and inventory when selected

What remains with you

  • Choosing providers and making care decisions
  • Approving paid services before they are confirmed
  • Keeping important changes reasonably current
  • Contacting the appropriate professional in an emergency
  • Following veterinary, farrier, dental, and nutritional advice
  • Confirming that the final setup reflects your preferences

Not included in the current pilot

Clear now, so there are no surprises later.

  • 01

Professional or emergency advice The service does not replace your veterinarian, farrier, dentist, nutritionist, or emergency resources.

  • 02

Grain and feed management Hay is the only feed-related area currently tracked. Grain, concentrates, supplements, medications, salt, and minerals are outside scope.

  • 03

Unlimited custom reminders The pilot supports a focused set of routine care reminders agreed during onboarding; it is not an open-ended reminder service.

  • 04

Unapproved commitments Paid services are not confirmed without coordinating with you first.

Your 90-day pilot

Use it first. Decide what it is worth afterward.

There is no charge during the pilot and no automatic paid enrollment when it ends. Near the end of 90 days, we will review what was genuinely useful, what should improve, and whether continuing makes sense.
